Wendy S. Purvey, a 23-year industry veteran, is responsible for creating and implementing all marketing, interactive digital, advertising and public relations initiatives for the Sotheby's International Realty® network, developing systems that are true to the brand's vision, unique positioning and savvy and refined personality.

Purvey has earned a reputation for delivering marketing strategies that have helped drive new business growth. Throughout her career she has been involved in multiple mergers and acquisitions and is experienced at bringing together multiple firms into new and existing brand identities. She joined the Sotheby's International Realty brand in November 2004 as senior vice president, marketing, and was promoted to chief marketing officer in April 2010.

In her current role, she also created and acts as the publisher for RESIDE magazine, a luxury lifestyle and real estate magazine published by the Sotheby's International Realty network. The magazine was honored with a 2009 Hermes Platinum Award for creative excellence and outstanding design and editorial in the overall magazine category.

She also spearheaded the development of exclusive marketing partnerships with The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times, two global, premier news outlets, to provide the brand's network members a direct audience with some of the world's most qualified buyers and sellers.

From 1999 to 2004, Purvey served as vice president of sales and marketing for Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate, Sarasota, Fla., the state's largest residential real estate brokerage company. In this role, she was responsible for the company's strategic marketing efforts and the delivery of marketing materials, tools and resources for 8,000 sales associates from 164 offices throughout the state. She also oversaw all marketing, advertising, public relations, Internet and intranet communications.

Purvey served as vice president, sales and marketing, for Arvida Realty Services, formerly Prudential Florida Realty, Clearwater, Fla., from 1994 to 1999, where she created, managed and maintained all company-wide marketing and advertising campaigns for 90 offices.

From 1987 to 1994 she was director of advertising for Prudential California Realty, formerly Merrill Lynch Realty, Beverly Hills, Calif.

Purvey earned her bachelor of arts and science degree in 1986 from Central Michigan University, Mount Pleasant, Mich. Unique Homes named her one of the top 35 most influential people in luxury real estate in their May 2006 issue.
