‘Rock the Ride’ for Stroke and Cardiac Patients

Jackson Hole Sotheby’s International Realty staff and agents rode as team Neon Nation for the 2023 Rock the Ride fundraiser.

This past Saturday, March 11th, marked the triumphant in-person return of the Rock The Ride fundraiser, organized by the Rock On Society and benefitting local cardiac and stroke patients via the St. John’s Health Foundation. The event, now in its sixth year, is part high-energy indoor cycling fundraising event and part community-centric costume party with an 80’s rock and 90’s hip-hop infused soundtrack.

Agents and staff from Jackson Hole Sotheby’s International Realty rode for team “Neon Nation.” The team’s members included Ashley Byington, Chelsea Baum, Ciara Malone and Amy Jones. “Rock the Ride was an absolutely stunning evening of spin coach guided rides to the most fun, classic hip hop and rock & roll mixes; riders in full costumes and high spirits, with neon lights, dancing, trampolines… every detail was attended to for this worthy cause,” said Jones.

Siegfried Finds Powder and a Purpose on Teton Pass

The summit of Teton Pass, like many trailheads and access locations across the west, continues to see an increase in users. Ease of side-country terrain access at ski resorts, better equipment, increasingly available information, and the overall surge in popularity of backcountry skiing within the past decade are all contributing factors to the area’s popularity. The next time you see lines forming or vehicles jockeying for a soon-to-open parking spot, you may also see a familiar face.

Brian Siegfried, an Associate Broker with Jackson Hole Sotheby’s International Realty since 2008, is in his third winter serving as one of twelve volunteers within the Teton Backcountry Alliance Volunteer Backcountry Ambassador Program. The volunteer ambassador program was initiated in 2020 to support the work of Jay Pistono. Pistono, as Teton Pass Ambassador, is a Forest Service employee and has served as the “protector of the pass” since 2005. Teton Backcountry Alliance sought to augment “a presence where there is pressure on the resource,” according to Siegfried.

Siegfried, who has been an avid skier of Teton Pass for thirty years, says the position is rooted in education. “It’s Wyoming Department of Transportation’s world. We’re just living in it,” he quips when referencing that the sometimes-contentious parking area atop the pass is actually a turn-out intended for brake checks and highway operations.

Hansen Recognized for Volunteerism and Real Estate Service

The month of March saw Jackson Hole Sotheby’s International Realty sales agent Marybeth Hansen recognized for both her professional and volunteer accomplishments.

Hansen, who has served on the Teton County Fair Board for the last decade, was selected as Teton County Volunteer Board Member of the Year. Her nomination came at the culmination of her term as Fair Board Chair for 2020—her second term in the role during her tenure on the board.

Professionally, Hansen made a podium finish once again last week in the annual “Best of Jackson Hole” rankings, earning gold within The Best Real Estate Agent category. A perennial favorite within the public-sourced ranking, Marybeth previously earned silver in 2020, gold the year prior in 2019, silver once again in 2018, and bronze in 2016.

When asked what sets Marybeth apart Brett McPeak speculated, “maybe it goes back to her days of slinging margaritas at Mary Piglets, but Marybeth is one of the most selfless people I’ve ever had the pleasure to know. She lives to serve!”
