Jackson Hole Sotheby’s International Realty is proud to sponsor Teton County Idaho Search & Rescue’s annual fundraiser for the third year running. The event, which serves as the primary fundraising opportunity for the group each year, will be hosted at Moose Creek Ranch in Victor on Saturday, February 25th from 6-10pm. The evening will feature a silent auction, live music by Derrik and the Dynamos, along with light appetizers from Three Peaks and a cash bar. Tickets to the family-friendly event are $45 per adult, and $15 for kids twelve and under.

In addition to the brokerage’s financial support of the fundraiser, two Sotheby’s International Realty agents serve as board members on the Teton County Idaho Search & Rescue Foundation—the non-profit organization that provides fiscal and administrative support to the 34-member operations team.

Jonathan McLaren has served on the foundation board since 2017, and brings a background in accounting, finance, and ski area management to his current position as board secretary.

Caroline LaRosa was appointed to the board in January of this year. LaRosa, who has an extensive background in marketing, was recruited to aid in expansion of the group’s branding and fundraising initiatives, and to help increase awareness around the operations team.

This year’s event will be the first in-person fundraiser for the group following a two-year hiatus during the pandemic. The ops team, which functions under the jurisdiction of the Teton County Sheriff, utilizes the funds raised to support their mission through general operations and training initiatives. The ops team’s response capabilities are enhanced through acquisition of equipment raging from wheeled litters to snowmobiles, a jet boat with water rescue equipment, and numerous specialized and multi-season rescue cache items. Beyond equipment alone, the funds raised directly enhance the training available to team members across a wide range of technical disciplines.

Teton County Idaho Search & Rescue is one of the only search and rescue teams within the region that maintains a search dog team—with four avalanche dogs currently operational, and four more completing training. The group works closely with several area partner organizations, including Air Idaho, which provides access to flight medics and enhanced search capabilities via their helicopter and flight crew based at the Driggs Airport.

Saturday’s silent auction will have simultaneous online and in-person components this year, with a pre-launch online currently available and coming to a close the night of the event.

We hope that you’ll help to support the team at Moose Creek Ranch on Saturday. Year-round giving is also supported via the annual Tin Cup Challenge, or directly via the team’s website.
