Philip White, President and CEO of Sotheby’s International Realty Affiliates, LLC, drops the gavel and signals the closing bell on the New York Stock Exchange on December 29.

Members of Sotheby’s International Realty network were on Wall Street on Tuesday as the company commemorates its 40th anniversary. Philip White, president and chief executive officer, had the distinction of ringing the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange on December 29th. The luxury residential real estate brokerage’s parent company, Realogy Holdings Corp. is publicly traded on the NYSE under the symbol “RLGY.”

White also addressed the current state of the luxury real estate market in a brief interview on CNBC’s Closing Bell—a market subset he describes as being stronger and more stable on the whole than in the past.

Current sales figures for the year-to-date ending November 30 reflect a 27% increase over sales volumes for 2014….

Saturday, December 19th marked the official celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort amidst a season already full of celebration. This years’s addition of the highly anticipated Teton Lift and on-slope dining at Piste Mountain Bistro have undoubtedly helped to elevate the resort in the annual rankings by Forbes Magazine, who describe it as a “perennial favorite of the [Pure Awesomeness Factor] algorithm….”

The Winter 2016 edition of Jackson Hole Sotheby’s International Realty’s Catalogue of Fine Properties is currently available in all nine offices throughout the region and through selected partners. New for Winter 2016 are the addition of Micro-Market Reports…

Mark your calendars—This Saturday, December 19th, the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort will host the Official 50th Anniversary Celebration Day. In a season full of celebrations at the #1-rated ski resort in North America, Saturday will serve as the Grand Opening of the new Teton Lift and Piste Mountain Bistro.

The Teton Lift will add additional lift-service access to blue, double-blue, black and double-black terrain best suited for intermeidate to expert skiers via a new high-speed quad chair. Check Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s interactive Lift and Trail Status and the Weather/Snow Report for current conditions.

Piste Mountain Bistro, in the Rendezvous Lodge atop the Bridger Gondola, is also slated to open December 19th and will compliment Couloir, the resort’s on-mountian fine dining experience at 9,095 feet of elevation. The reimagined space will serve lunch from 11:30am-2:30pm daily with dinner seating at 5:30pm. The dinner menu at Piste currently teases us with such delecacies as Hudson Valley Foie Gras, Saddle of Wyoming Lamb, and Snake River Farms Wagyu Beef Zabuton (via Piste’s OpenTable menu—complete offerings are unavailable at this time).
