Yves Desgouttes, who has 20 years of commercial and property investment experience in Jackson Hole, joined Sotheby's in 2000. Yves owned and managed several lodging properties and has owned and managed several office buildings in Jackson Hole. Prior to that, he was based in both New York and London as a proprietary trader and treasurer for several investment institutions such as C.I.C., Midland Bank and ING. He began his career as a geologist in northern Canada. His extensive experience with Jackson Hole property investments coupled with his professional knowledge of the global investment market directly benefit his clients. He is a member of the Oxford Society, Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce, San Diego Venture Capitalists Group, San Diego International Sports Council and Royal Eastbourne Golf Club. Active in community affairs, Yves has served as a volunteer at St. John's Hospital, the Free Clinic and the Community Resource Center. He was born in France and educated in England and is fluent in the French language. He did his military service in a French Mountain Commando regiment. He earned a bachelor's degree from Southampton University (UK) and did research and a thesis at Oxford University (St. Edmund Hall) where he was a member of the track and field team. He is married with four children.
